We could introduce you to The 8 OUT OF TIME by telling you of the crimes that caused them to be sitting on death row. We could. But, we won’t. Instead, we’ll share with you a piece of correspondence with each of them to give you a glimpse of the men they are today.

Don W. Davis

People keep asking me how it is that I can be smiling at a time like this, I am going to let you in on a secret. Come closer, I don’t want those who believe in the death penalty to hear.

The State cannot execute the same man that was convicted. I executed him years ago. The only thing the State can do is take me out of this cage.

Now there’s something to smile about.

Am I more fucked up now then I was when I came to this Rubik’s Cube in 1993?

My logic is clear to me as I’m listening to Ludwig van Beethoven & Miller Szenthelyi, “Romance for Violin and Orchestra No. 2 in F. Major, Op 50”… or am I crazy? You be the judge.

If the man in the meadows were put in this cage when he was a toddler, I would have discovered the limits of my confinement “painfully” when I was young. It is entirely conceivable that I would end up just avoiding my invisible prison bars to retain the illusion of freedom, and repress the pain of imprisonment.

If you cannot escape your prison, then you might as well imagine that you’re free.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to write me. Sorry that it’s taken me so long to get back at you. To get to the point, because I’m no good at beating around the bush.

Trying to understand what it is that you’re looking for has left me at a loss. Look in the eyes of the world and the State of Arkansas, I’m just a nobody. Which is why I can’t understand why you would think writing about my life story would make good reading.

It’s Thankstaking Day. I have native blood on my father’s side; Blackfoot from the Minnesota/Canada area. Far more was taken than ever was given. But still, I do miss those good ole days when the house smelled of loving touches, the chatter was simple, and the mood was such that one was more willing to accept that which at any other time was blamed on the dog. A drumstick in hand while the Dallas Cowboys (girls) got their panties handed to ’em. unless you’re a fan, then um… go Cowboys! Anyhow. I’m waiting to hear from you.

In dynamic peace, Dainin

Believe it or not, this is my first official email ever to be sent out and look at how long emails have been around. I look forward to when you can come and visit with me. I have a lot to share with you and I know you will make excellent use with what I entrust to your care.

I am of the opinion, if a person is not serving in some capacity, they’re not living.

God bless and keep you.

Thank you, Deborah, for writing me. This is beyond important. You must understand that!

Deborah, thoroughly understand I am illegally serving time. I exhausted the correct remedies in all my Pro Se Executive Clemency Applications, but the State prison investigators discriminated investigating for 24 years.

Deborah, I need your complete attention. There’s not much time. Please give me a physical examination when you film me to eyewitness what I believe is cannibal scars on me. I request you become eyewitness at my execution, but know the facts!
